Abstract
Writing is one of the most essential skills that every student should develop in today’s fast-paced world. Writing competence is highly important in both personal and professional settings of students, and can have a significant impact on an individual’s success and opportunities. The impact of AI writing assistant tools, especially ChatGPT, on writing proficiency of students is a complex and multifaceted issue. While these tools offer exciting possibilities for enhancing writing skills, they also raise concerns about potential negative effects. This scientific work focuses on the impact of ChatGPT on students’ writing proficiency and investigates the ways of improving writing competence through AI tools. This research delves into intricate connections between the usage of AI tools, especially ChatGPT, and the improvement of writing skills in EFL students. The research emphasizes that the relationship between AI and writing proficiency is complex and evolving.
