Abstract
This article discusses issues related to the emergence of the phenomenon of legalization of proceeds from crime. The article examines the evolution of the term “legalization (laundering) of proceeds from crime” in international legal acts. The socio-economic prerequisites for the emergence of money laundering are also considered.
