Abstract

This article provides a scholarly analysis of the creative and pedagogical activity of Mukarrama Turgunbayeva, an outstanding dancer, choreographer, and educator who played a significant role in the development of Uzbek national and professional dance art. The study examines her approaches to integrating elements of folk dance with professional stage interpretation, elevating themes of labor and everyday life to the level of artistic imagery, and revealing the image of the Eastern woman through expressive stage means. Through an analysis of the dance works Paxta, Pilla, and Tanovar, as well as the activities of the Bahor Uzbek Girls’ Dance Ensemble, the article substantiates the artist’s contribution to the development of Uzbek choreography. The research findings confirm that Mukarrama Turgunbayeva’s creative legacy constitutes an invaluable asset of Uzbek national choreography and demonstrate its significant scholarly and practical importance
